Robin Hobb

Robin Hobb is the second pen name of Margaret Astrid Lindholm Ogden (born 1952 in California). She is a novelist who writes primarily fantasy fiction although she has published some science fiction. From 1983–1992 she wrote exclusively under the pseudonym Megan Lindholm. In 1995, she began use of a second pseudoym, Robin Hobb. She currently publishes under both names. She presently lives in Tacoma, Washington.

She is well known in the fan fiction community for being one of the authors most opposed to the writing of fan fiction, saying that it "is one topic that can make my eyes spin round like pinwheels and steam come out of my ears." However, while she asks that fan-fiction based on her own creations not be published, she does not object to all fan fiction.
